1. Бампер с нижней юбкой от Renault Clio
Renault
Audi 80 Sport:
Lower the car. Kits are available that lower the car normally from 10-40mm,
probably best to get a garage to do this!. The hardest part is getting the
old rear shock absorbers off the locating pegs and then getting the new ones
on the locating pegs (oil is very handy for this!!!!). Although putting them
back on can be done using a valve spring compressor to force them home! The
fronts you can just remove easily although you will need a few special tools:
i.e. a coil spring compressor, ball joint separator, decent socket and
spanner set and some allen keys. Difficulty Rating: 5/10
Fit clear side repeaters to your car. Either the square style, fits straight
into the original hole, or oval side repeaters. The oval side repeaters need
modification to either the repeater or the hole for proper mounting (not
very difficult though). The wiring is straight forward and needs no mods. Or
if neither of these take your fancy then what about side repeaters from a
different car or maybe coloured repeaters. As for other cars well the choice
is yours, Neil thinks the Mercedes A-class ones are smart or the Focus ones
are quite cool, and you can get them in many colours: blue, yellow, red,
green, or even the new led repeaters! A bit of modification required for
some. Difficulty Rating: 4/10
You can put tinted windows on your Fiesta and its something you can do at
home. If you buy some window tint then the instructions are very good! The
best thing to do is to take out the windows to do this job. Its not as
difficult as it sounds, if you have a Haynes manual then it gives good
instructions on how to do this. The only problem being that the windows must
stay out for at least 24 hours after the tints are applied or when you wind
up the windows it will pull off! Difficulty Rating: 7/10
If you have the standard flat Fiesta front bumper, off-set the number plate
off to the left or right. Difficulty Rating: 2/10
Fit a bee-sting aerial as these are just the coolest looking aerials you can
buy! Requires the old aerial to be removed and have the holes filled and
then sprayed or you can just put a blanking gromet in the hole and paint
that! Difficulty Rating: 4/10. To fit the new aerial, you must bring down
the head lining at the back of the car. To do this you must remove the boot
seal and heat up the headlining (make sure you heat it well otherwise it
will crack or tear when parts of it remain stuck to the car!). Then decide
where you want it and drill the 10mm hole in the roof. This is best done if
you start with a small drill bit and slowly get larger, if you don't then
the drill may catch in the metal of the roof and distort it! Then paint the
hole with touch up paint to stop it rusting. Once the aerial is bolted back
on, feed the aerial cable down the hole in the rear window post to keep it
neat and tidy, and then re-hang the head lining and admire the results.
Difficulty Rating: 4/10
How about a cool look for your tyres?! All you need is a pot of
special tyre paint , this paint will allow for the tyre to flex
without the paint cracking and falling off. Then just paint the
lettering on the tyres. Difficulty Rating: 2/10 |
|
You obviously need clear front indicators and what you do is drill a hole in
the side and put your side light in there. Only white is legal of course. So
you have 4 lights on at night and looks wicked driving when sun is setting.
Difficulty Rating: 3.5/10
There's a 'carbon-fibre' look film you can get. Halfords amongst others sell
it. Can be used on handles, back of mirrors etc. It's expensive and a pain
in the arse to fit, but looks good once on. Difficulty Rating: 6/10
Get that 'rally style' look by fitting a sunstrip in the window. Many types,
designs, colours and opacities available. Solid ones seem to be the 'in
thing' at the moment. Note of advice. Make sure your windscreen is TOTALLY
CLEAN before fitting, otherwise it'll peel away. Difficulty Rating: 5/10
Clear 'chip' film. Stick it along leading edges, helps prevent stone chips.
(Probably as hard to fit as the 'carbon fibre' film) Difficulty Rating: 6/10
How about adding a big bore exhaust. Or, if the budget won't stretch that
far, fit an exhaust tailpipe. Halfords and Motorworld have an extensive
range of tailpipes, something for everyone. Exhaust, probably easiest to get
a garage to do it. Difficulty Rating: 4/10. Tailpipe, two bolts clamp on the
existing tailpipe. Difficulty Rating: 1/10
How about adding those flourescent lighting tubes to the underside of the
car. Common colours are blue and red. They cost about lm10 each and make the
underside of the car and the road glow eirely! They are NOT road legal
whilst driving. But still look cool! Difficulty Rating: 6/10. You'll have to
get underneath with a drill to fit, and they will need wiring up too!
Here's something for your rear drums. It's a 'fake rear disk'. It fits
between the rear drum and the alloy wheel. Makes it look like you've got
disks all-round. Naxos has them and they shouldn't be hard to fit.
Difficulty Rating: 3/10
How about removing the bumpers and body kit, and filling and rubbing down
whats left. It looks really smooth and clean, and is road legal so long as
you have a rear number plate light and no sharp edges. Hard to do but get a
good finish. Bodyshop required! Difficulty Rating: 8/10
On the MK2 XR2 front bumper where the reg plate sits, cut the middle section
out of the bumper out so you are left with a part of bumper on either side.
Then relocate reg plate. Modify grille to finish it off. Difficulty Rating:
6/10
Interior Tips:
Do you have standard black dials in your car? Change them for white ones, or
even a different colour to match your car. "But I don't want XR2 dials" I
hear you cry! Then why not throw in some Mk4 XR3i dials.Difficulty Rating:
7/10
Have you still got the standard gearknob? Lets face it, it's a bit pants!
Change it for something shiney, curvy, ribbed(!), or whatever takes your
fancy. Difficulty Rating: 1/10
Replace your tired old foot pedals with stainless steel ones, they look
great. All you have to do is use a screwdriver to peel off the rubber pedals,
then use an alan-key to secure the new pedals. Cheap and easy. Difficulty
Rating: 2.5/10
Make some speaker pods, Difficulty Rating: 5/10
Cockpit spray. Replace the original drab grey with something else.. Like yellow
or red. Spray available from places like Mazini autoparts or Naxos. It would
be best if you removed the dash first! Difficulty Rating: 3.5/10
Are you fed up with the dull interior light in your Fiesta? Thought so! Well
if you want to fit a better light lense then get one from a Metro as they
are clear and give more light. If your still not satisfied then fit the bulb
that you would use in the indicators and then the light is very bright! you
can also fit a blue or red bulb. Difficulty Rating: 1/10
Don't want to have to switch your car off to open the boot? Then get
yourself a boot release. These can be purchased from Ford (expensive!) or
from the scrap yard although they are not very common to get the proper
Fiesta version. An alternative is to get the boot release from the MK1 Orion
1.6i ghia as they are very easy to come by. With a tiny bit of modification
to the actuator arm, these can then be mounted in the tailgate in order to
open the boot. Wiring is easy, you just have to earth the solenoid to the
boot lid and then run a switched battery supply, or ignition, to the
solenoid. A flick of the switch and its open. Another advantage to this is
that you can then de-lock the boot. Difficulty Rating: 4/10
You can also put similar flourescent lights inside the car too, generally in
the footwells. Again not road legal whilst driving. Again need wiring up.
Some drilling may be required. Difficulty Rating: 4/10
Engine Tips:
K&N Air Filter. Replace the original Ford air filter unit with a
K&N. Should Make the engine purr. Alternative, Jason has removed his
air filter and replaced it with a small section of pipe, topped with
gause. Sounds good for an 1100!! Difficulty Rating: 2/10 |
|
Also if you cannot afford a K&N air filter then you can remove the extension
off of the air cleaner box, which goes to the exhaust manifold to collect
warm air. This will increase the air flow into the box and sounds brilliant!
You can also cut holes in the bottom of the air box (make sure they are
outside of the filter or you will let dust into the carb!!!). You will need
to reset the carb mixture when you have finished though. Difficulty Rating:
2/10
